Daydream Designs Closeout

Daydream Designs Store
Announcement from Diane, Owner of Daydream Designs:
"Daydream Designs will be closing December 31 due to tax regulation for online digital download businesses like this one.  The foreign tax is call VAT (Value Added Tax) and it requires US businesses to assess taxes for sales in countries in the European Union.  The regulations are cumbersome, and create an impossible paper nightmare for small companies.  One way around the situation would be to limit sales to US customers only, but that would cut into nearly half of all Daydream Designs sales. That scenario makes profit impossible and necessitate the close of our store."

You can shop the store for 50% off until December 30th.

I'm so sad.  Daydream Designs will be closing shop.  I'm heartbroken for Diane and I'm heartbroken for all the small online businesses that will also choose to close due to these new tax regulations.  I don't understand it but I know God has a plan for all this craziness.  It's been a blessing to create with Daydream Designs digi's and I will continue to use them none the less.

Here are some fun cards made with with Daydream Designs Cool Friends,  Merry and Bright Christmas Digi Papers, and Penguin Kisses (sentiment).

Cheer

This week my heart started off discouraged.  I didn't take long to figure out why and at that moment I went to the Lord.  Going to God has not always been my first response to discouragement.  Often I would seek advice from my husband or comfort from my parents.  This time around was different.  I plainly knew my discouragement was Satan.  He was trying to take God's victory away from me and steal my joy.  Satan wanted (and still wants) me to quit serving God.

Coffe Cup Bouquet

It just so happened that evening was Ladies Bible Study night.  I asked the ladies to pray for me and they did.  Our study was on "Communications".  I received a double whammy of God's love that night.  I feel silly for being so discouraged but I also know that God is faithful and He hears our prayers.  He knows all our strengths and weaknesses and He loves us none the less.  Being discouraged in the midst of this study made me examine my heart and how I deal with people.  Do I exhibit Christ's likeness in my communications, countenance, and tone or do I not?  Very humbling.

The next day my sweet friend delivered a beautiful coffee cup bouquet.  Flowers may seem ordinary to you, but for us in the Arctic flowers are very costly and a luxury.  I'm so very thankful for the people God puts in my life.  He puts people in my way to encourage, to receive encouragement from, and to serve.

I hope you have a merry heart today!  As for me I am enjoying the sweet smell of roses and standing firm on the peace only God can give.

Smiles,
~Nancy

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Penny's Challenge #207

Happy Wednesday!

is sponsoring a challenge over at

The theme this week is "anything but Christmas".   Here's my part for the challenge.  The designs are  winter-ish but certainly not Christmas.  All the digi's used for these cards are from the Sweet Warm Up collection.  There is a choice of colored and uncolored images for the main set.  Sweet Warm Ups also has digi papers, sentiments, and boarders to choose from.

I tried something different with my digi's this time around.  Instead of putting my card fronts together on the computer, I went ahead and printed out the papers and card elements and assembled them old school.  There was enough scraps to even put together coordinating mini-cards.  All digi designers have a process they use to create with.  I'm so glad to have tried another way in the creative process.   How do you use digi's?

I hope you have a chance to post to Penny's Paper Challenge.  Can't wait to see what you make!

I'm glad you stopped by!

Matching Sweet Warm Up mini cards.  ;-)

~Nancy

Do You "Word Art Wednesday"?

Hello!

Word Art Wednesday is an awesome site.  They share free scripture sentiments and host weekly challenges.  I'm posting these cards made with a combination of a Word Art Wednesday sentiment and Diane's Daydream Designs.

It's easy for me to be stuck on autumn time colors.  They are so rich, deep, and beautiful.  It is a joy to watch the season's progression of change.  This year we've had snow since late September - early October.  That progression went from just beginning to change to all sparkly white in a very short period of time.  It flew by with a blink of an eye.  Since I couldn't enjoy the fall time beauty outside this year, I enjoyed making fall time cards.

Thanks for letting me rattle on about our weather and share my cards.  I hope you've enjoyed the splendor of autumn.

Smiles,
~Nancy

What's New Stamped Card

www.inkcicles.com

I was looking through my photo archives and came across this fun little card.  The goal with this card was to encourage a friend I hadn't seen in a long time.  On the design end of things, I also needed to use my neglected stash and design it in a "mail friendly" manner.  "Mail friendly" as in not to pay extra postage.  {BIG SMILES}

The stamped images and papers were from The Angel Company.  Copic markers were used to color the cute cow and the card was highlighted with Stickles for the perfect amount of bling.

So... what's moo?  I hope you are having a blessed day.  I encourage you to use your stash and have fun!

Smiles,
~Nancy

Happy Thanksgiving - Autumn Blessings Digi Card

"This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it."  Psalm 118:24

I am hoping that you had a blessed and joy filled Thanksgiving.

I've been thinking even more on my many blessings all week in prep for today.  Last week our Pastor had asked us (the entire church) to share a testimony for what we are thankful for.  Surprisingly, my seven year old daughter had her hand up first when Pastor asked for testimonies.  It blesses my soul to hear her praise God.  It is amazing to know what God is doing in the lives of those around me.  Following the service we celebrated with a great meal.  The testimonies, fellowship and food made for a good times.  Unfortunately, my husband was not able to come to church today due to being afflicted with the awful crud that is going around.  We brought him home a plate of dinner and desserts.  Dear Hubby is feeling better now.  He's been resting all day and is currently watching movies with our daughter.  As for me... I am enjoying the quietness here at my desk.  I'm still thinking of God's blessings, thinking and praying for my family all over the country, and hoping to sneak into the studio to make something fun!

Oh, we have so much to be thankful for.  I have so much to be thankful for.

Before I forget, here's one of the cards made with Thanksgiving on my mind.  This lovely card is made with digi's from Daydream Designs.  For the main focal point I layered Rustic Bandana & Fall Digi Papers with the leaf wreath from Autumn Blessings.  The sentiment is from New Day Scripture and Sentiment Set.  I know it's hard to see but some of the card elements are popped up for a more dimensional look.  Also used is the main die from Little Darling Square Die Set.  The die cut was sponged with chalk ink to match.  I even managed to use some scraps of regular designer paper, ribbon, and those long forgotten Robin's Nest Dew Drops.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and for letting me share my faith and crafty creations.

Have a very blessed evening!

Smiles,
~Nancy

Little Darling Die Sets: You Sparkle Card

Hello and happy Friday everyone!

It was a great surprise to be gifted two Little Darling Dies from Tammy Louise of Handmade By TLC.  She sent me the Darling Square Die set & Fluttered Tulip Bodice.  From what I understand she designed both sets.  That's so cool to go from paper crafting designer to paper crafting tool designer!  I spent an evening playing with the dies.  The card was inspired by the Fluttered Tulip Bodice.  Layered on top of the die cut is a stamped image from Red Rubber Designs called Sew Thoughtful.

I went a little crazy with the bling!  Lots of sparkle on this baby!

Thank you Tammy Louise for sharing your talent as the designer of both dies set and for sparkling in the blogging world.  I feel honored to get to create with your designs.

You can find Tammy Louise's blog at:  Handmade by TLC

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Digi Stamping

I found a new digi art store.  {BIG SMILES!}  It's called Diane's Daydream Designs and I love their Christian theme.  It just happened that around the same time I came across their store I also needed some ministry cards.  {Even BIGGER SMILES!}  After about an hour of perusing their site I finally had a few picked out.  "Love Lifts You" was the first set in my cart and the first I created with.

Here are my simple cards made with "Love Lifts You".

Hello everyone from Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge!

I'm sharing these cards with Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge 203.

Have a blessed day everyone!

Digi Card Creations with Doodle Pantry (Challenge 50)

Dabbling into digital crafting wasn't a direction I thought I'd find myself going.  So here I am starting to make more digital creations.  Why digi?  It comes down to the dollars and time.  Double that appeal for me simply because of where I live.  Getting things to and from the arctic is costly and delivery can take weeks.  The allure of no shipping costs with little wait times for downloading easily justifies digi's in my book.    Not only that, digi files are not consumable like regular papercrafting supplies.  Files can be used over and over again.  This means I only have to buy once and reuse for as long as I own the file.

One of the digi stores I find myself frequently shopping at is Doodle Pantry.  They have tons of products I can use for the Ladies Ministry at church and for my other general card making needs.  Shopping at Doodle Pantry is very affordable.  They range from free, free with purchase, up to $4.  There might be items that cost more than $4 but I haven't come across them yet.  I love that you can find pre-colored sets too.  These sets include coordinating digi papers and sentiments.  For the one low price you getting it all.  LOVE THAT!

Doodle Pantry has made it easy for me to become a digital collector.  Their products are affordable and fun.  At this point I can't imagine going all digi.  I like stamps, dies, inks, paper crafting techniques, and designer papers too much to completely transition.  As it is, I am still embellishing my digi card fronts with physical embellishments too.

Inkcicles ~ Digi Card with Doodle Pantry, DPDC50

This card was made for their Digital Challenge #50.  I'm so excited to be earning "Cheer Spirit" for making this card.  Everyone that submits a Doodle Panty creation before the Challenge deadline can earn it for themselves too.

Thanks for letting me blab on about my digi adventures.  If you are a digi crafter, let me know where you shop for your digital supplies.  You can be my "Digi-Enabler"!

Smiles,
~Nancy
